Give me the basics.

I work exclusively online (JaneApp/Zoom). My general hours are Wednesdays and Thursdays between 4-8pm. On occasion, I can offer sessions on Tuesdays. My clients prefer the flexibility and convenience of not having to come into an office for sessions. However, this means that it is important that you have a quiet, uninterrupted space for our appointments.

What’s your style?

I get a lot of inquiries from people and this is an important question. People who work with me and who see the benefits are those who are generally open to a more experiential, body-based, creative, intuitive work in counselling. You don’t need to have any prior experience with this, but being open-minded and curious is important in working with me. Yes, I do still do "talk therapy" but my work is not focussed on cognitive-behavioural therapies (CBT) which is a lot about homework and being a relatively left-brain only kind of work. My work incorporates a lot of right-brain mindfulness and centres on helping people learn to hear their own voice, trust their own feelings and experiences and gain confidence to heal and shift old energy patterns (ways of being). I work hard to help clients build their own sense of inner control. I also bring in family systems such as NSST (NeuroScience in the Sandtray), Satir and Internal Family Systems (parts of a person) to inform my interventions with people.

How “effective” is counselling or therapy?

My best work with clients is based on a fairly regular schedule: bi-weekly or weekly. This is especially crucial at the beginning of our work together to be doing sessions consistently. Some of my long-time clients scale down to once every 3 weeks or 1 time a month. People generally work with me for at least 3-6 months to process some issues, but many of my long-term clients stay with me because we are continually processing their current lived experiences and how it has been impacted by their past. So we dive in one layer at a time.

What is your rate?

I charge $250/50 minutes ($268 includes GST) for individual sessions and $280 for couples sessions (romantic couples or parent-child pair). I accept e-transfer only. I do not do direct billing to insurance companies and I do not have a sliding scale. If you have extended health benefits, the receipt I issue can be used for your claims.

I do offer some clients who want to do counselling work but who have some extenuating circumstances, to work with me at a reduced rate for a certain period of time. Currently, all of my reduced rate spots are full.

Please click on the “Book Now” button to see my earliest availability on JaneApp. Click on “First Visit - Online” under the list of options. Once you’ve signed up and booked your first session, you will be emailed consent and confidentiality forms to be filled out. Please complete them at least 2 days before the first session. There is a deposit of $100 at time of booking to secure your spot. My online booking form goes over my no cancellation policy but how rescheduling can work.
